Junior High School Classes
Edwin's junior high school classes have been set up
to make use of the English our students are learning at junior high school so
they can understand the grammar they are learning and use it to communicate with
native English speakers. Students build up their English knowledge
gradually in a non-pressure environment which allows them to enjoy their English
learning experience.
Conversation
Class
This native English speaker led class
focuses on listening and speaking. By learning from native English
speaking teachers the students can get used to real pronunciation as well as
learn useful expressions and phrases which are not usually covered in textbooks.
The focus is on 'real' English language learning. For example, at school
students learn, "How are you?", "I'm fine, thank you. And you?".
However, there are more phrases other than "Genki desu ka?" such as "Saikin nani
ga?" and "Doushita no?" which can be taught in English. Also, more natural
replies are taught such as the student saying s/her has a cold.
Grammar Class
We encourage all students to preview
their grammar before class and review what they have studied after class.
Our classes are small so teachers can focus on each individual student's needs
and help them with their problem areas. The grammar classes are taught by
Japanese teachers so students can easily converse with the teacher and ask
questions freely in their own language to ensure full understanding. We
can tailor the course for each student's requirements, such as for school
examinations or the Eiken test.
